In this course, I often assign theorists, both within and outside of the typical political theory “cannon.” I find that by revisiting classical works alongside a broader diversity of political perspectives helps engage students and help them practice their own critical thinking skills. In this course, we discuss both the universality and the specificity of theories of land, private property, settler-colonialism, and belonging.
